We believe that Parish Councils are a good thing, they consist of local people who know their area and work hard voluntarily to help provide services for the community. There are many Parish Councils across Bedfordshire and Brickhill Liberal Democrats have always been committed to enabling Brickhill to have the same representation enjoyed elsewhere.

Liberal Democrats support the democratic vote in Brickhill which took place to bring the Parish Council into being. Local Conservatives do not support this level of representation at Parish level for Brickhill, although there are Conservatives who are members of the Parish Council.

Liberal Democrat Mark Fitzpatrick, is an elected Parish Councillor who serves as Chair of the Parish Council. He is shown visiting the Brickhill allotments which are run by the Parish Council.

Value for money

The Parish Council delivers excellent value for money, since all of the councillors work at no cost to the tax payer, their work is voluntary. Moreover the Parish Councillors encourage others to give of their services in a voluntary capacity.

Free Litter Collection

Liberal Democrat members of the Parish Council support Pride in Bedford and join the free litter collection service across Brickhill. Brickhill Liberal Democrat councillors are pleased to join with other volunteers in litter collection.
