We believe that Parish Councils are a good thing, they consist of local people who know their area and work hard voluntarily to help provide services for the community. There are many Parish Councils across Bedfordshire and Brickhill Liberal Democrats have always been committed to enabling Brickhill to have the same representation enjoyed elsewhere.
Liberal Democrats support the democratic vote in Brickhill which took place to bring the Parish Council into being. Liberal Democrat Mark Fitzpatrick, is an elected Parish Councillor who serves as Chair of the Parish Council.
Value for money
The Parish Council delivers excellent value for money, since all of the councillors work at no cost to the tax payer, their work is voluntary. Moreover the Parish Councillors encourage others to give of their services in a voluntary capacity. Brickhill Parish Council has been a strong voice for Brickhill, working to ensure that Brickhill obtains the services which local people badly need. This year the Parish Council was able to attract a considerable amount of additional funding for Brickhill to privide such thinsg as youth services and speed restriction signs in Kimbolton Road and Brickhill Drive.
