Health facilities in Brickhill

Lib Dems call for medical facilities in Brickhill

We are campaigning for better health facilities in Brickhill

In Brickhill there were once two branch doctors’ surgeries. One of them, in Merlin Gardens, is now closed. The surgery at Tyne Crescent has limited opening hours and we have no dentist. With the new housing development off Tyne Crescent adding another 500 homes to the area, we believe that it is time to provide more comprehensive facilities locally.

Thank you to all the residents who signed the Lib Dem petition calling for better health facilities for Brickhill. Cllr Wendy Rider and Cllr Charles Royden handed in the petition to the Bedfordshire Primary Care Trust, who are responsible for the commissioning of GP services throughout the county. There were 451 signatures which is a great response. Your Lib Dem councillors are in discussion with the PCT, with the Putnoe Medical Centre and the Borough Council to see if something can be arranged quickly - the most likely candidate remains using a shop at the Brickhill Drive shopping parade. We will keep you informed of progress through this website.
