August 2010 Update

Campaign Success !

Mayor Dave Hodgson has declared that none of the green spaces in Brickhill will be used for additional housing development. Not only has Mowsbury Park been removed from the previous plans for development, we have also seen Freemans Common and Jackmans Farm taken out. This is exciting news for Brickhill and a vindication of our 'No More Bricks in Brickhill Campaign'

The story

Last year we started our campaign ‘No More Bricks in Brickhill’. "This was in response to the announcement by the Borough Council of proposals for additional large housing developments on green fields in Brickhill.

We believe strongly that Brickhill has already had enough development and we cannot sustain more large scale housing estates. As your councillors we campaign for basic amenities such as pedestrian crossings on our roads and proper medical facilities, we do not want to see more strain created on our community. Our green fields form an important part of the quality of life in Brickhill and we have always been promised that they would be left as a feature of a new linear park.

The election of Liberal Democrat Mayor Dave Hodgson, gave us hope that we could stop these plans for more housing developments on the green belt surrounding the north of Brickhill. We gave the Mayor our petition showing your support for our campaign and he has stated that these fields will not now be used for development.

Thank you to all who supported our campaign
