Following Liberal Democrat Campaigning we now have a permanent police post based at St Mark's Church Community Centre.

Lib dem with Police in Brickhill

Zero Tolerance on crime

Charles Royden is pictured with PC Dave Hawkey at the Police Post in St Mark's Church Community Centre. Liberal Democrats are committed to cutting crime and anti-social behaviour and believe that it is important to have police out on the streets.

Liberal Democrats are the party which supports more police on our streets - and we have delivered in Brickhill. Local Liberal Democrats campaigned for the setting up of the Police Post at St Mark’s. Since Liberal Democrats have campaigned to bring a police cop shop to Brickhill, there are now police and police support officers based in Brickhil. Liberal Democrats also proposed the setting up of a No Cold Calling Zone for the whole of Brickhill. These are practical steps of benefit to the whole community.

Liberal Democrats continue to campaign for more police officers on Brickhill streets.Our close liaison with the police has resulted in many problems being resolved effectively such as the campaign to stop mini scooters being driven on pavements. We will continue to highlight areas of concern like these.

As a result of campaigning by Liberal Democrats a local police surgery takes place at St Mark’s Church Community Centre every Tuesday and Thursday, it is the busiest surgery in Bedford.

News Update
We do not believe that brickhill is a suitable location for travellers to camp. Working with the Borough Council and the Police and using the Crime and Disorder Act we have ensured that groups which have come to brickhill have been moved on within 24 hours.

If you have not already done so then please do join the Ringmaster scheme. This scheme alerts you to what is going on, you can receive information from the police directly to you by Email or telephone. Many Burglaries can be prevented. Keep doors and windows locked at all times. Remove all keys from the locks and keep them in a safe place and out of view. Avoid leaving property like Handbags, Keys, or laptops in hallways, or where they can be seen from outside the house. Keep garden furniture, ladders, and Wheelie bins in a secure garage or shed, or locked up away from the house, where they might be used to climb onto a roof or access a first floor window. Be a good Neighbour. Be aware of sounds like breaking glass. Report any suspicious activity, or vehicles, in the area. If you have any information about crime,

  1. Telephone the Police Control Centre on (01234) 841212
  2. Text your message to (07786) 200011
  3. Email your message to chc@Bedfordshire.pnn.Police.uk }
  4. Telephone crime stoppers in confidence on (0800) 555111.
